About Us

horse sitting business grand junction

Hi! I'm Gillie, and I'm 11 years old. Horses have been a huge part of my life for many years, and I spend as much time with them as I possibly can. My horse, Oreo, has been my best friend for a little over four years, and together we've had so many amazing adventures.

We compete in western horse shows throughout the Grand Junction area and were proud to serve on the Rimrock Rodeo Royalty Team this summer. Being involved in the local horse community has taught me responsibility, sportsmanship, and how to properly care for horses every day. Whether it's feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, checking water, or giving horses the attention they deserve, I truly enjoy every part of caring for them.

When I grow up, I hope to become an equine veterinarian and a horse trainer so I can spend my life helping horses stay healthy and happy.

I started Grand Valley Horse Helpers because I wanted to earn money to help pay for Oreo's care and save toward owning another horse someday. I know how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your horses when you're away, and I promise to treat every horse like they're one of my own.

Since I can't drive just yet, my mom or dad will always come with me during every horse sitting visit. They'll help make sure everything is taken care of before we leave, including checking gates, making sure water is running properly (or turned off when needed), and ensuring your horses are safe and comfortable.

I love animals of all kinds and can't wait to meet yours! Before taking care of your horses, I'd love to schedule a meet-and-greet so you can introduce me to them and show us their daily routine. This gives us a chance to learn about their feeding schedule, medications, turnout routine, favorite treats, and any special instructions so we can provide the best care possible while you're away. Please be sure to contact us several days before your trip so we have plenty of time to meet you and your horses.

Thank you for considering me to care for your horses. I can't wait to meet you and your four-legged family members!
